Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-11
This page says what TaxesLedger collects, what it does not, which third parties are involved and why, and how to opt out. It is short because the site is simple: there are no accounts, no payments, and the calculators do their arithmetic in your browser.
What we collect directly
Nothing that identifies you. TaxesLedger does not require accounts, and the calculators run entirely in your browser — the amounts and rates you type are never sent to our servers, stored, or logged. If you email us or use the contact form, we keep that correspondence for as long as it takes to deal with it and to keep a record of rate corrections we have made in response.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage — pages visited, approximate location such as country or region, device and browser information, referral sources, and performance signals. It helps us improve calculator accuracy, navigation and technical reliability. Google Analytics loads only after you allow it in the site banner.
Ahrefs Web Analytics loads by default to provide aggregate measurement. Ahrefs describes Web Analytics as cookie-free, not based on persistent identifiers, and not collecting or storing personal or identifiable data by default.
Advertising
This site is supported by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits here and elsewhere on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info/choices. How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Where the law requires it — the EEA, the UK, and US states with privacy statutes — Google's consent message on this site provides the consent and opt-out controls, and ads are non-personalised until you choose otherwise.
What those vendors may receive through cookies and similar technologies is the usual technical record of a web request: IP address, browser and device details, the page you are on and the page you came from, and the time. We do not add anything to it — we have nothing about you to add.
Data sharing
We do not sell personal data, and we do not sell it under any other name either. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics are shared with the providers named above so that they can provide measurement, reporting and advertising services for this site. No other party receives anything.
Children
The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form, tell us and we will delete it.
Retention
We hold no user records of our own, so there is nothing of yours to retain or delete beyond correspondence you send us. Google's and Ahrefs' retention periods for analytics and advertising data are set in their own policies, linked above.
Your rights and how to reach us
To see or control the data Google holds about you, use Google's own privacy controls at the links above. For anything specific to TaxesLedger — a question about this policy, a request to delete correspondence, or a rate you believe is wrong — write to privacy@taxesledger.com or use the contact page. The editorial and corrections policy explains how corrections are handled and logged.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Continued use of the site after that date is acceptance of the revision.
